The DT-platform Ram 1500 (2019+) moved to a full proximity smart key; older DS-platform trucks (2013–2018) use the distinctive FOBIK flip key on base trims. We stock both generations.

Common Ram key issues we see
Real patterns from Ram owners across the Charlotte / Lake Norman area:
- FOBIK blade snapping: the DS-platform (2013–2018) uses a flip-out blade that fatigues with daily use. A snapped blade leaves a working fob but no way to cut the lock cylinder — full key+fob replacement required, not just recutting.
- GQ4-54T and GQ4-53T look nearly identical but are not interchangeable — the smart key variant has a proximity antenna the FOBIK remote does not. Ordering the wrong blank at an auto-parts store is the most common Ram DIY mistake.
- All-keys-lost on any Ram with push-to-start requires professional equipment — there is no self-programming path with zero working keys. The SKREEM/BCM module must be reprogrammed.
- 2019+ DT Ram 1500 owners who assume the key system matches their 2017 DS Ram will get the wrong blank. OHT-4882056 is DT-specific and is not interchangeable with any FOBIK stock.
