Chevrolet Silverado Key Replacement
The Silverado is the most-common truck key call we get in the Lake Norman area. GMT800 (1999โ2006) Work Truck and LS trims use a cut transponder key with no integrated remote. The GMT900 (2007โ2013) switched to the OHT01060512 flip key โ the blade snapping from door-lock use is the most common Silverado failure we see. The K2XX and T1XX generations (2014+) use the M3N-32337100 remote fob with a separate blade key; LTZ/High Country push-start trims use a different smart-proximity key. We stock all three generations.
Key types by year โ Chevrolet Silverado
| Years | Key type | FCC ID | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1999โ2006 (GMT800 โ Work Truck, LS, LT base trims) | Transponder cut key (B111-PT blank, ID46 chip, Z keyway โ no integrated remote) | โ | $150 |
| 2007โ2013 (GMT900 โ all trims including LTZ) | Remote head flip key (OHT01060512, 315 MHz, Philips ID46 chip) | OHT01060512 | $175 |
| 2014โ2022 (K2XX and T1XX โ WT/Custom/LT/LTZ non-push-start) | Keyless entry fob + transponder blade (M3N-32337100, 315 MHz, 4B/5B) | M3N-32337100 | $175 |
- 1999โ2006 (GMT800 โ Work Truck, LS, LT base trims): Cut-and-chip only. No integrated remote fob โ the keyless entry fob (if any) was a separate purchase. Base GMT800 trims commonly came with two keys at delivery but Charlotte used-truck buyers often arrive with one or none. All-keys-lost requires BCM programmer reset. PN 88894208 on most applications.
- 2007โ2013 (GMT900 โ all trims including LTZ): PN 5913396 (4B) / 5913397 (5B w/ remote start button). The flip blade is the leading failure mode โ twisting the key in the door lock fatigues the hinge and snaps the blade mid-turn. We cut a new blade and re-pair the transponder chip in 20โ25 min on-site.
- 2014โ2022 (K2XX and T1XX โ WT/Custom/LT/LTZ non-push-start): PN 22881480 / 13577761. Non-proximity โ requires button press to unlock, not push-start on standard trims. The blade key and remote fob are separate pieces. LTZ/High Country push-start trims use a different smart-proximity key โ call with your VIN if you have push-start and need to confirm the correct blank.

Common issues we see with Chevrolet Silverado in Charlotte
- GMT900 (2007โ2013) flip blade snapping at the hinge โ twisting the key in a stiff exterior door lock fatigues the metal; we cut and re-pair in one visit
- K2XX remote fob losing pairing after dead truck battery โ BCM key table clears on some years; usually a 5โ10 min re-sync on-site
- GMT800 (1999โ2006): worn blade before chip fails โ ignition starts but key turns hard; fresh-cut key resolves it before cylinder replacement
- All-keys-lost on any generation: BCM erase adds time but we carry the tools for on-truck AKL jobs
